Hannah-isms

Still no pictures until I can figure out this here new computer.  Yes, I am computer stoopid.  I know I am hilarious. :)  But I did have to blog something funny.  Lately Hannah has been extra blonde.  I mean really really blonde.  I feel bad admitting this, but I was actually getting annoyed and frustrated with her 100 questions every half hour, but finally I told myself to CHILL and embrace her blondeness and her sweet little personality.  I know I will be sad when she stops saying crazy things.  Man oh man this girl makes me laugh.  Jason and I have decided to have a section of our blog of things the kids say that make us laugh hysterically.  It is in the works.  But, for now...here are a few Hannah-isms from the past week. Enjoy!

"I'm so glad today is Wednesday."
2 seconds later..."I'm so glad today is Monday!"
2 seconds later...."Mom what day is it?"

Singing the days of the week:
"Sunday Tuesday Friday Monday Wednesday Thursday Saturday Monday Crumbday...days of the week."
(I had no idea there was a crumbday, I'm missing out.)

"Mom I have never pulled a card at school."
(They pull colored cards at school if they get in trouble)
"Mom I pulled a card."  I thought you told me you didn't pull a card.  "I didn't Mom. But I pulled one."  Hannah that doesn't make sense.  "Well if I did pull a card it would be a pretty one. Maybe I'll pull one." Um, don't pull one then that means you got in trouble. "Oh really?  Okay I won't pull one, I'll just do something naughty so I get one." NO HANNAH, do not pull a card and do not do something naughty to pull a card.  Do you understand?  "What are we having for dinner?"

"Mom do you think jam is made from jelly."

"Dad, Fo Shizzle Dizzle Wizzle Kizzle Lizzle."
(no explanation for that one)

"When I play soccer I feel like my stomach is jiggle wiggle."

At Sams Club yesterday she touched an outlet and got shocked.  She turned to me and said, "Mom that thing shocked me."  Yes Hannah, it shocked you because it is electricity, remember how I have taught you since you were a baby to not stick your finger in a light socket?  "No I don't remember that is why I probably touched it.  They should not have those we don't need elastics any way."

"Mom, when is my birthday?"  August 25.  "Mom, when is my birthday?"  August 25.  "Mom..." Hannah if you are going to ask me when your birthday is, DON'T!  "Fine I guess I won't know that my birthday is on August 25."

"Mom if Barbie was real we would be like best friends because she is awesome and I am nice."

"Ava smells like dog crap.  Do you think she could be like a puppy?"

"I have to clean up my room, so I can put more junk on the floor."

"Mom I love you even if you have bad breath."

"I go to school after lunch right?  Well I want to eat lunch early so I can go to school now."  That is not how it works babe.  "Well change it because you said you are the boss."  When I said that I meant me and Dad are the bosses of this house.  "Well you are a stinky pants at your job, you are fired."

"I think Bubba needs a good long timeout in the toilet."

"Mom will you sing me a song with your good voice, your normal voice is really bad."

Talking to Ava, "When Dad gets home he is going to kick your butt with his clown feet."

Oh this list could go on and on.  This girl makes me laugh every day!!

Crash and Burn

Our hard drive crashed. BOO!  It is in the Japanese man hospital trying to recover.  Who knows if it will make a full recovery.  I have learned a valuable lesson though, back up your files.  Get an external hard drive.  DO IT NOW!  I kept thinking I will get it next week or the week after. I guess I learned my lesson the hard way.  Let's just pray Shau Yu can save our pictures, who cares about our files. Just save the pictures!!  I am thankful though that I am obsessed with this here blog.  I had our whole life in pictures caught up to date, hallelujah!  Jas went out and bought a new hard drive so we could at least have Internet until we patiently  sweat it out to hear from Shau Yu or Chin Wa, whatever the computer geniuses name is.  God Bless Computer Nerds.  Stay tuned for pictures of our last camping expedition of the year, Willy the Wolverine visits the school, the kids yearly photo op and a bunch of random pics of our crazy life!

They Make Us Happy

Nothin' much is going on around the Smith Casa lately.  Just the same old, same old.  We are patiently waiting for something exciting to happen....like Publishers Clearing House coming to our door and giving us a million dollars, okay so that won't happen, we will settle for cookies from a friend or something from the Fedex guy.  We are busy with school, soccer, chores and everything else that is tangled up in this crazy life of ours.  We are waiting for fall to get here and the babes can't stop talking about Halloween and they are already talking about what they want for Christmas.  It just seems like time flies and every day theses little sprockets of ours are getting bigger.  Lately these kids have been hilarious.  One minute they love each other and the next minute they are in full on "I hate you" mode.  They definitely make me and Jason happy happy happy.  The things they do and say bring a smile to our face. Man oh man we love these three soooo much!
Here are a few things that they have said to us this past month:

Parker:  Mom if you could be a lizard which one would you be?
Me: A komodo dragon.
Parker: Mom, you rock.
Hannah:  Sometimes I wonder if I am going to be a dancer when I grow up. Like a really good dancer. Like a celery dancer.  (she meant celebrity dancer)
Ava: Hi Poop.
Me:  Don't call Mom poop.
Ava: K poop.
Me: Ava, do not call me poop.
Ava: Sorry Poop.
Parker:  I am so sick of spaghetti and people who drive too slow in the fast lane.
Hannah:  Oh my heck, I mean seriously oh my heck. That is so heckin' mean.
Ava:  Bubba, Hannah, Owie.  Bubba Hannah Owie Aba. GRRRRRR!
Ava: Rio Rio Rrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooooo.  AAAAAAAAHHHHH! Rio Rio!!
Hannah:  If I cut my hair would you call me Bob or Carl?

See, these babes make us HAPPY....when skies are gray!
Love them to pieces.

Ponytail & Mac n' Cheese

Baby Skish sports a pony now.  Yep, you heard me right, a pony.  A cute little curled ponytail.  Tear.  She thinks she is super awesome when I do her hair pony style.  She struts around, shows Hannah every ten seconds that she has a pony too.  Her convo goes something like this, "Hi Hannah. Aba booiful hair."  Then points at her hair.  Ten seconds go by, "Hi Hannah. See. SEE!! Aba booiful hair."  Hannah seriously rocks because she never gets annoyed with "Aba's booiful hair" comments.  She always says, "I see it Ava. So pretty."  Little girls are the bestest.
 LOVE HER!
Could the ponytail be any cuter. I highly doubt it.

I kinda went ponytail picture crazy, but I couldn't help it.  She looked all grown up and she was just too cute.
That night Parker and Hannah went to have a sleepover at Papa and Grammie Olsons.  So, Jas, me and Skishy went out on the town.  Okay, so we just went to Red Robin.  Because that is about as adventurous as we get.  Ava loved every minute of being an only child for the night.  She was laughing, dancing, giving us kisses.  She didn't ask once where Parker and Hannah were.
 Coloring with Daddy.
Ava was mesmerized by her mac n cheese.  Jason was blowing on it and she kept saying, "Mom yook. Wow."  It was hilarious.  Every time music would start playing she would hurry and stand up and shake her little toosh.  She had tons of people watching her and so she was hamming it up.  It was great to just spend some time with our lil' peanut.

Future Soccer Star

Ava is loving the days Hannah has soccer games, because she gets to run around with her Daddy and kick the soccer ball.  She is getting pretty good at it too.  I love her little knock knees and her tennies.  She looks so grown up.
 Showing us her moves.
Jas is trying to teach her to not pick up the ball.  She doesn't think that rule is very awesome.  She usually yells and does it any way.
This picture makes me laugh! Love her shoes, her chubby legs, her belly. I love this babe.
We told her she couldn't run out on the field with Hannah.  She threw a fit and we realized we never knew she was so limber.  Maybe she will be a gymnast as well as a soccer star.
Love warm nights at the soccer field.

Cone of Baby Shame

We took the Cone of Shame off Jedders and of course Ava was all over it.  She put it around her neck and walked around barking for the next five minutes.  I think I just may leave this on her for a bit.  She can't see her hands so she can't color on walls, tear up paper, play in the toilet, throw food, this list could go on forever.  Too bad she knows how to take it off.
This babe is crazy, but she can always make us laugh!

Soccer Princess

Hannah can be aggressive when she wants to be, but really she is a Princess.  Even when it comes to sports, it is all about being a Princess.  Really, we wouldn't have it any other way when it comes down to it, because if it were any different, that wouldn't be our Hannah.
Here she is getting her Soccer Photo.  She made me check her ponytail over and over again to make sure the twisy part didn't fall out.
 Her team, the Fireflies.
The photographer kept telling her to do stuff and it made me laugh when she stuck her tongue out because she was in deep concentration.

Han always asks me what her hair looks like when she is running, so I snapped this photo just for her.  When I showed her the picture she said, "Ohhhh it look like a mermaid tail." Ha Ha.
During this particular game Hannah was running down the field and stopped mid run to check out the football players running by.  NICE.  We had to yell, "Hannah GO!"  She turned and waved, fixed her hair, took one more glance at the boys and took off running.  We are in for it big time with this girl!
Here is a picture from her other game.  Look at the look that blondie on the right is giving our blondie.  Scary.

Honestly, I think Hannahs favorite part of the game is the giving 5's at the end of the game.
Completely tuckered out.  Way to go girlie, you did Awesome!

Wolf Badge

Parker received his Wolf at our last Pack Meeting.  He worked really hard to finish and get it before his birthday in October.  We are very proud of you PK!
 Jason giving him his award.

Way to go Buddy!

Cone of Shame

Poor Jedders.  This is what happens when people don't throw away their garbage, instead they choose to throw their glass beer bottles all over the rocks by the reservoir. Awesome.  See, now you know why we renamed it "White Trash" Reservoir.  It is called a garbage can, use it people!
Poor Jed cut his foot on a piece of glass.  Jason had to take him to the vet, get his foot wrapped up and now he wears the cone of shame so he won't tear the bandage off.  Poor Puppy.

Jedders really does look ashamed in this picture.  It is so sad, but so dang funny at the same time.  He can't see anything with that dumb cone on, so he is constantly running into things and taking Ava out when he walks by her.  He knocks things off the coffee table and the poor dog can't even go up the stairs. I am laughing just thinking about it.  Let's hope he doesn't have to wear that cone for too much longer.

9/11

Today is the Ten Year Anniversary of September 11th.  I told Jason to put our flag out this morning.  Our children asked why it was so important to put our flag out today.  I felt a deep sadness because I had not talked to our kids about this day.  I wondered why I hadn't, probably because it is not a good memory, it is sad, it is frightening, it is not something I really want to remember, but it needs to be remembered.  It is part of history. It will forever be a part of my life.
I still remember that morning.  I woke up to get ready for work.  Jason was still in bed and so I didn't turn on the t.v. that morning like I usually do when I am getting ready for the day.  As I drove to work I saw a construction trailer with a orange poster board on the side that said, "Pray for the families."  I thought it was strange.  Pray for what families???  I got to work and went into my bosses office and got his desk ready and turned on the news on his t.v. like I always do and there it was, a picture of the plane hitting the towers.  I froze.  My heart stopped and then the tower fell like it was just stack of blocks.  I remember kneeling down and tears were streaming down my face.  I watched people run for their lives, people crying and holding onto each other.  People jumping out of windows to try and save themselves.  People hoping and praying for survivors, but deep down knowing there weren't going to be any and if there were there would be few.  It was as if time stood still.  There was no work that day, everyone just sat glued to the t.v. feeling helpless, hopeless and heart broken.
For days we watched the t.v. listening to survivors stories, to families talk about loved ones they lost, people holding up signs and posters of pictures of people they loved and couldn't find.  Hospitals waited for the wounded to show up, but they didn't show up.  I remember a man telling a news caster, "We went to find survivors, we went to find people, but all we found was melted metal and dust.  That is all, can you believe it, that is all."
9/11 changed me.  It changed the way I looked at freedom. I had a new perspective for the men and women who fight for our country, for the firefighters, police officers, rescue workers and just for regular men and women who risked their lives to save people they didn't even know.
Our country came together that day.  We held strong.  We fought and continue to fight for freedom.  My hope is that we don't forget that day, the day our world stood still, the day we realized that our freedom is worth fighting for, a day that will stay in our minds and hearts forever.  A day we need to teach our children about.  So today I will be put our flag out, I will remember the ones who lost their lives.  I am proud to be an American.  I will stand up for what I believe in.  This day will never be forgotten, but will be imprinted in my heart forever.

We'll be comin' around the mountain

Yes, we went camping again.  Yes, we camp at the same spot every time. Yes, we ate too much food and drank too much soda.  Yes, we laughed until we cried or snorted.  Yes, we mastered the game of Uno.  Yes, we played horseshoes, shot bb guns and went on four wheeler rides and Yes, we had a blast, just like we always do.
Baby Skish has mastered the big kid swings.  She even pumps her legs to go higher.

She is all about playing on the swingset at Del Boca Vista.

Parker mutilated this soda can with his awesome mad bb gun skills.

The men (Jas, Uncle Ster & Matt) showing us their skills.  I just love Jason's pink bb gun, only real men shoot pink guns.
Ry, Matt and PK shooting cans.
Jed doing what he does best, laying down.
Ryan and Maddi taking aim.  I know, my picture descriptions are witty. ;)
Um, short bus?
UNO.  The game that can either unite families or break them apart.  Matt, Drea, Ryan and Lindsey getting ready to show us their Uno playing skills.
Miss Ava coloring and having a snack.  I think she is really going to be an excellent artist.  I mean check that dog and cat out she drew.  Amazing.
Hannah and Kaylee playing Jenga, well their version of Jenga which was making a house for their toys.
Lindsey building the highest Lincoln Log tower ever made.
 The babes playing Jenga.
 I heart these three.
Lil' Miss Morgan and her cool shades.
Skishy Puff patiently waiting for her lunch.
Every time we go camping PK finds some kind of reptile, this time he found a water snake at the reservoir they went fishing at.  He really wanted to bring it home, but we had to put our foot down.  No snakes!

 The raging fire!
These two girlies are becoming best friends. We love it!
Sitting around our morning campfire.  Hannah is wearing her 3D shades so that the fire would seem closer to her face.  Ava is picking up the big rocks for Papa.

Jas is telling PK and Hannah stories about when they were little.  The kids love it.

Ava is giving me an extreme stink butt crusty. Sweet.  Hannah went over and tickled her so she would laugh for the camera.
Avy thought it was so funny to scratch Parkers head.  She did this for a good ten minutes, laughing hysterically.
Ava's favorite thing to do when we go camping....get in the cooler.  She thinks she needs to drink 10+ drinks every hour.
This group looks tired!
Food always tastes better when your camping.  Ster was the master breakfast chef.
Should we be concerned about these pictures?  Does a love for a pet sometimes go to far?  Still to be determined.
We of course had to go play in the ginormous sand pile.

We played a little horseshoes.  Trevor showing us his skills.
Maddi and Ryan waiting in anticipation to see just where oh where is that horeshoe going to land.
 Trevor and Maddi.
Jas has pretty good skills, but not as good as me!  Oh yeah, I just said that.
But really, the master at horseshoes is Ster.
Looky Looky, I got a RINGER!
If you weren't playing horseshoes, you sat over here at this table and stuffed your face with good food.
Linz and Drea off for a ride.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Love this picture.
Jason playing Doctor to Mr. Jed.  They went fishing at a reservoir, which they have now renamed "white trash reservoir"  Why you ask?  Because there were broken glass bottles everywhere and our poor pup cut his foot on a piece of glass.
Ouch!
We headed home Monday afternoon and this is what we got stuck in coming down the canyon. Boo.  Thank goodness for dvd players in the car.
This babe was tuckered out.  Camping is hard work.
Parker: sweaty and hot.  He goes shirtless to cool down.  Sits next to bags of dirty laundry, blankets and jackets that smelled like smoke. AWESOME.
Hannah:  Sick Sick Sick.  Threw up while we were camping.  Threw up while we drove home.  Sitting with throwup bowl, her stuffed Polar Bear named Polar Beary (genius) and cuddled up in one of Ava's blankets that she had to pry away from Ava.
Ava:  Out cold five minutes after we hit the road.  Snoring very loudly.  Sleeping with Blanket and  Binky Binky.  Wakes up a few times and yells and falls back to sleep.  No explanation.
Jas and Kris:  Just glad to be getting home to take a shower and sleep in our own bed.  Jason driving, Kristin sitting with feet up on dashboard,  talking about truckers, paint colors, Glee and why licorice burps are so not awesome.
The End.
