FIESTA DAYS!!

Spanish Fork just celebrated Fiesta Days. We had a great time going to the carnival with our friends and riding some fun rides. The kids had a great time!

I have a lot more pics and things to post so be prepared over the next week or so.

a DaY aT tHe PaRk

We decided to take the kids to the Park for a picnic and a little fishing. Parker was so excited to go fishing. We had a great time just hanging out and feeding the ducks, throwing rocks in the pond, fishing, and walking around. The highlight of the day was watching a duck get caught in some fishing line and some old man holding the duck upside down to try to help it. The kids thought this was amazing and they were so excited because they also saw a deer in the bushes. They keep asking Jas and I when they get to go back and play.

Out 4 a Walk

This past week we went on a walk along the trail behind our home. It is right by the river. I was debating on letting Parker know that there is a river right by our house. So we rarely walk this trail, but I thought I better show him and Hannah and let them know that they are NEVER allowed to go this way by themselves. So after my 10 minute lecture on water, trail safety we had a good time. The kids thought we were going camping because you seriously could go camping along the trail and feel like you are actually pretty far from home.

We saw a lot of insects (yeah!) and snake skin, pheasants, birds, butterflies, we saw the bushes moving and assumed it was some kind of animal, so of course we hurried away.

All in all we had a really nice time and it was a fun walk.

Parker informed us we have to walk the trail every day.

Good thing Parker likes Hannah, because she insisted on holding his hand at all times, so she wouldn't fall in the river. :)

Mendenhall Reunion

We just had the Mendenhall Reunion and it was fun to get together and see everyone. We have it every year at Mapleton City Park.

I looked out the window and what did I see, a cute little blondie staring at me. Okay so that was kind of corny, but this is what I found when I looked out the window. Hannah had put all of these swim rings on her neck and head and was calling herself a, "Simming Pincess."

I really think this is a really good look for her. She is so funny.
These are my three other children: Dallin, Garret and Caijsa.
Parker and Hannah love them and want them over at our house at all times.
We have lots of great friends in our neighborhood!

4th of July Parade

Each year we go to the 4th of July Parade in Provo. The kids had so much fun this year. We had our friend Shauna come with us with her kids Joseph and Caijsa and the kids loved having friends there with them. I just love going to the parade and seeing so much Red, White and Blue and looking around and seeing everyone have so much respect and pride for this great country that we live in. I definitely don't think we have enough holidays like the 4th to celebrate this great country.

A few things I love about the parade, when the flag comes down the road and everyone stands and puts their hand on their heart. When anything in the parade represents the army, navy, Vietnam vets, etc. I love hearing all the applause they give these brave men and women.

My children would not take a normal picture. Parks kept closing his eyes and laughing and they kept sticking their tongues out or their laffy taffys out of their mouths. Silly kids.

Joseph and Hannah just kicked back. Joseph didn't move from this seat pretty much the entire parade. He danced to all the music and had a great time. Hannah was so excited he was there.

This year we had a great time, only a few strange things occurred. An old man making himself right at home with us and breathing down mine and Shaunas neck. The couple making out on our blanket. We had no idea who they were. A lady who invaded our spot as well and kept asking me for drinks and candy. Oh and who can forget the woman whose shirt kept falling down every 5 seconds. But hey, it kept us entertained!

We can't wait to see what next years parade brings. :) We hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

The Best 50 Bucks We Ever Spent.

This year Jas and I decided that we were going to get the kids a pool.

There were many reasons why I wanted them to have a pool:

1. I didn't want to live at the public pool each and every day.

2. My children have many friends, who would all want to go to the public pool every day with us.

3. I can sit in my backyard and read, relax and who cares what I look like.

4. We already have the treats, the towels, the pool toys, a slide, etc.

So, we bought a 10x10 pool and it is three feet deep and it is perfect for the little ones and for us adults. I swim with the kids sometimes, but I have to be prepared to be attacked and choked a few hundred times. But hey, I can just go outside to swim in my backyard and it beats packing up everything and heading to the public pool.

Don't get me wrong though, we will be attending the public pool a few times this summer, just to change it up a bit. Plus, the kids do want to go play with all the "cool" toys at the public pool. But for now, our pool is keeping them busy enough and the neighborhood kids seem to enjoy it as well. It really has been the best 50 bucks we ever spent.

I had to post this picture because I informed the kids that they could not eat any popsicles in the big pool, so they went over and sat in Hannahs little pool. Funny kids.
