Markers

Hannah was coloring the other afternoon and I was doing laundry. Hannah didn't close the marker bin and so Ava thought it was her turn to color. She colored on every paper that was on the table.

This is what I found when I came out of the laundry room.

Then she colored on her face and was sucking on the marker. Super Awesome.

Backyard Fun

We finally did it, we bought the kids a swing set. It isn't wood and major fancy, it is metal and didn't cost an arm and a leg, but the kids LoVe it!

Jas had three eager helpers to get this thing built as quick as possible.

The next day was gorgeous. The swing set was built, we mowed the lawn and worked on a few projects, the kids played all day with friends. It was great! Jason made this tent for the kids in the backyard, so they could go "camping."

They played in here for hours, they had a barbie and polly pocket campout, then a tea party and then a monster attacked everything and ruined it. Oh wait, that wasn't part of the party, that was Ava purposely ruining their fun and then laughing about it.

First Campfire of the Year!

The kids were begging or should I say pleading with Jason to have a campfire. We caved and started a fire up and had hot dogs and smores. It was such a nice night, for once there wasn't hurricane winds or rain. The kids had a blast! The boys getting the fire started.

Roastin' some dogs. Hot dogs. After dinner we roasted some mallows. Nothing like the first smore of the season. Yum-o!! Our kids are becoming quite the mallow roasters. Hannah wanted me to do an extreme closeup of her smore. We put peanut butter cups on our smores instead of pieces of chocolate. They are so delicious! Parker made a double decker smore. Hannah enjoying her gooey yummy smore.
This is Ava's first time I let her eat an entire smore. Last year I only gave her a few bites. I documented the 1st Smore with lots of pictures. Checking it out. What is this??? Consuming her entire hand...I mean eating some marshmallow. Licking the yummy goodness off her chubby fingers. I am likin' this Mom, this is awesome! Now she is in business! I think this babe loves her some graham, mallow and chocolate! Doesn't she look awesome in her crooked shades?!

Free Drink Sale

We had a warm spring day and our kids and the neighborhood kids decided to have a free drink sale. Yep, a free drink sale. I guess they sell free drinks. That is how Hannah explained it to me. Whatever you say girl. They had a lot of fun. Oh, and I just knew that these ginormous green boxes in our front yard were good for something, they are the perfect place to set up your free drink sale.

They had fruit punch, water, sunny d, regular orange juice and orange soda.

Oh and looky here, we are finally taking down our christmas lights, about time!

Jammies and Pink Boots

Miss Ava loves her pink boots. She seems to want to grow up faster than we want her too. She wants to wash herself in the tub, comb her own hair, put on her own clothes and shoes and she loves to put on lipstick. You are not even TWO baby girl!

She got out of the tub the other night and after we dressed her in her footed jammies, she wanted to put her pink boots on over them. She makes me laugh!

Oh and I just had to document the fact that we have to put her jammies on backwards and zip them up the back because she will undress herself at night. We just turn the feet and slip the jammies on. She doesn't seem to mind and we are happy to say that this has prevented her from undressing herself during the night.

It was an Accident

We only had one "accident" over Spring Break. The sad news is, I doubt it was an accident. Monster aka Ava decided to scale the Barbie house and it tipped over right on Hannah. This barbie house was custom made by my dad, so believe me it is solid. The tip of the roof peak cut her scalp and then the house itself scratched her arms and legs.

I was in my room when I heard a loud crash and then lots of screaming and crying. Hannah came out running and telling me Ava smashed her and Ava came out running saying, "Hannah Ow." Yep, Hannah had an Ow all right. That wound on her head was a bleeder, I thought for sure she needed stitches and I am still thinking that I probably should have taken her in.

Once we got the bleeding under control, we had her lay on an ice pack, take some pain meds and then she got a treat. Her favorite, "cream" She has always called ice cream that.

Parker went into full emergency response mode. He got an ice pack, he got a wet cloth, he ran around yelling out commands to everyone and then he went and got his Body Book and made Hannah do a bunch of physical, speaking and sight tests to make sure she didn't have a concussion. It was hilarious to watch, but also sweet because he really is such a good big brother and loves his sisters very much.

Then she got to watch Tangled. She was in heaven.

We are glad she is doing fine and is all better now.

Hanging out at Papa & Grammie Olson's

We played over at Papa and Grammie's one day during Spring Break. It amazes me and Jason how our kids can play there for hours without complaining once that they are bored. But, when they are at our house, everything is boring. I guess that is normal though, Papa and Grammies house is always way more fun!

Ava always says to me, "Mom, weeeee" Meaning she wants me to swing too. I did my version of swinging.

Ava wanted NOTHING to do with the trampoline. She was scared to death and every time we would put her on it, she would bum scoot to Papa. It was hilarious.

She got a little braver and decided she would walk around the tramp, only if Papa would hold her hand. The minute she let go, she would just stand there and yell for me or Papa.

She would rather swing. Ava wanted to try out the big kid swing. She does pretty good, until she wants off and then she just lets go and falls backwards on her back or forward right on her face.

The entire time Ava swings, she yells at everyone. She wants everyone to see her swinging.

I can't believe how grown up Parks is getting. He will be nine this year. He is such a good kid!

Then Dad got there and the real fun started. Lots of hugs!

Ava and Hannah are definitely Daddy's girls, so when she saw Hannah jumping with Jason, she was a little jealous and decided she needed to be brave and try out the trampoline one more time.
