The Making of the Science Projects

This year Parker and Hannah decided they wanted to participate in the Science Fair at School.  Jason and I have very different views when it comes to school projects. 

Jason's view:  AWESOME, Science!  We can blow up stuff, sweet! 

My view:  Holy crap, this is going to be a lot of MOMwork.

And of course my view was not wrong, it was a lot of MOMwork, but the kids loved it, we all learned some science stuff and the kids had fun. Here are some pictures of the "making of the science projects" 

Hannah's Science Project:  "Ocean in a Bottle"

 You put water in a soda bottle, add veggie oil and food coloring and voila...You have an ocean.

You shake the soda bottle back and forth and you make waves. She was really proud of her experiment.

Parker's Science Project:  "Crack the Egg"

 You need eggs (duh!), masking tape, scissors, a cup, a piece of cardboard and cans of food. 

 Parker wrapped masking tape around the eggs first.

 Then he poked a hole in the shell.

 Then he drained the innerds of the egg out.

 Once the egg is empty, you cut the eggshell into two pieces.

 Then you put the eggshells on the floor into a square and set the piece of cardboard on top.  Then you start stackin' the cans of food.

 That is a whole lotta tuna people!

Then you stack em' til you crack em'!

Cool huh?!  We thought so!

We took a gazillion photos, made their presentation boards and off to the science fair we went!
